“To be frank, history repeats. Growing up, we’ve all learnt about the horrible reign of Adolf Hitler and probably we even look back and say that if we could rewind time, that we as a collective could stop what had happened. Well history is repeating, what Israel is doing to the palestinian people if no different. Get it? There is no difference, yet no-one seems to care.”

So, hypothetically… if I could take a bunch of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and read books at Barnes and Noble all day… and then be able to display my knowledge and understanding of the subject on an equal, if not higher, level than a college student… then, hypothetically… why is everyone paying for college again?

(Answer: Because a college degree isn’t about education, it’s a class marker. If we cared about everyone being educated, we would accredit free online courses and allow people to achieve intellectual growth and success without going into debt. But that’s not what college is for. I mean, yeah in college you can travel and learn from amazing professors and start your own anything and have access to facilities and resources and money, yeah, college is all that. And I’m not discrediting anyone who loves college but… college, at the end of the day is a business. College is just one more big way to perpetuate the system. But I say f**k the system, man.) #FreeEducationForAll #LearnRadically

Yuri Bezmenov: ‘Deception Was My Job’

In 1985, defecting KGB agent Bezmenov sat down and explained how, very easily, governments work to subvert public opinion through the use of ideological propaganda.

I wish people would stop using the word ‘terrorist’ like it means something.

This picture, taken at a presentation by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, has gone viral on Twitter in the wake of emergency legislation being pushed through parliament.

Metadata is often dismissed by politicians because it doesn’t include the content of a phone call or email, only basic details such as when the conversation took place and who it involved. But this picture demonstrates why it is important.

It comes as the government rushes through an emergency bill to force mobile phone companies and internet providers to record the metadata of citizens’ communications.

The draft legislation was introduced yesterday with cross-party support and MPs are expected to pass the bill on Tuesday.

Also drone strikes are based off meta-data

"Perpetual Warfare"
•
"Perpetual Warfare" is not a new concept, not a unique concept to America. But — for a government — it is “useful”.
•••
The direct function of Never-ending "Perpetual Warfare" is to support & maintain the Military-Industrial Complex. (The one that General & then President Eisenhower, a Republican, warned us about.)
•••
The "justification" for such Never-ending support of the Military Industrial complex is two-fold:
[1] It is fed, propagandistically, to the public as being about "defending" something — sold as a "defensive" response (although, in actuality, it may be an offensive rather than defensive action; and,
[2] it "creates jobs". This last ("job-creating") function, however — when it is used as a primary justification — unless a country is at Full-On Wholesale World War — indicates a WEAK economy, rather than a strong one.
•••
The term #terrorism is a highly-maleable & flexible term. Its use (now) is liberal. Its application is ALWAYS relative to the center-of-power using the term. And its propagandistic function cannot be over-estimated. In its true sense, terrorism does exist. But it’s #MEANING (both explicit & implicit) depends on WHO is talking, and whom they are talking to. The meaning of the word, in other words, is #relative.
